Rates & Policies

Rates are the same for students, teachers, and adult supervisors.  Group participants may not pay individually.

The following Teacher/Adult Supervisor to Student ratios reflect the number of adults admitted for free and the adult supervision required in the galleries at all times.

 Grades K-3:  1 teacher/adult supervisor: 5 students
                                                      Grades 4-8:  1 teacher/adult supervisor: 10 students
                                                      Grades 9-12, Post-Secondary and Adult ESL:  1 teacher/adult supervisor: 15 students

$16  - Half day (maximum 2 hrs)

* Self-guided visits include the ROM Galleries only; they do not include special exhibitions. All Guided Visits and Special Exhibition Programs include self-guided time in the ROM Galleries at no extra charge.

Booking Requirements

  • Guided visits must be booked no less than 10 weekdays (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) prior to visit date.
  • Self-guided visits must be booked no less than 2 weekdays (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) prior to visit date.

 

Payment

Payment must be completed for all visits upon arrival. 

Deposits are required for:

  • Guided Visits booked less than 10 business days before the visit date require a non-refundable deposit for 15 students per class no later than 2 business days after the booking is made and no less than 2 business days prior to the visit date.
  • Self-guided visits booked less than 10 business days before the visit date require a non-refundable deposit of $120 no later than 2 business days after tbe booking is made and no less than 2 business days prior to the visit date.

  • Cash
  • Cheque payable to "Royal Ontario  Museum".

A receipt will be issued upon full payment.
 

NOTE:

  • There is a minimum charge for 15 students per group.
  • A support person accompanying a student with a disability will be admitted free.
  • All Guided Visits include self-guided time in the ROM Galleries at no extra charge.  Does not include special exhibitions.
  • The ROM offers free general admission only to Indigenous Peoples, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis. This does not apply to guided school visits, special programs, annual memberships and surcharged exhibitions.  Schools booking self-guided visits must book in advance no less than 2 weekdays (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) prior to visit date.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be e-mailed no later than 10 weekdays (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) before visit date to schoolv@rom.on.ca. Failure to confirm your reservation is not considered a cancellation.
Cancellations received after this period will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to the 15 student minimum charge per group. A reduction in the number of classes you are bringing to the museum for guided visits made within 10 weekdays of the visit will be considered a partial cancellation and will result in a minimum charge for the visit.
If you are cancelling multiple reservations, please cancel them individually by responding to each reservation e-mail, or send a separate e-mail listing all the reservation numbers.

 

Accessibility

Education at the ROM aims to be fully accessible to all participants and we can offer a variety of communication supports and accessible formats upon request. To request communication supports and/or accommodations to meet your students' learning needs, please email schoolv@rom.on.ca or call 416.586.5801 x1 at least three weeks in advance to ensure sufficient time for our staff to meet your request.
